Kaliwesi is one of the poorest villages in Central Java, Indonesia.
To combat this poverty, Victory Church launched the “Kaliwesi Project” in 2013, with the aim to:
1. RESCUE ‘AT RISK’ CHILDREN
2. DEVELOP SELF-SUFFICIENCY WITHIN THE COMMUNITY
3. CREATE A CENTRE OF ‘INFLUENCE’
So far, the Kaliwesi Project has had a phenomenal impact through:
1. SPONSORSHIP OF 29 CHILDREN
2. TEACHING TRAINING
3. KALIWESI CHILDRENS CENTRE
This centre has become a meeting place in the village and a place for the sponsor child to be cared for.
ANNUAL KIDGO EVENTS
As a result of the positive impact this event is having on the children in the village, Central Java’s Minister of Education has asked that the program
be run throughout in every school in the region.
The impact of the Kaliwesi Project has meant that village has regained ‘significance’ in its region with new roads and houses being built
for the first time in 60 years and local law enforcements coming on board as supporters of the Kaliwesi Project.
